International Monetary Fund spokesperson Jerry Rice confirmed that the rapidly expanding Corona Virus will have an impact on global economic growth, revealing that the Fund will likely reduce its growth forecasts as a result.

He said: "We will likely reduce our growth forecasts for the world, as it is clear that the virus will have an impact on growth, but it all depends on the speed of recovery in China and other countries, especially in terms of indirect effects, impacts on supply chains, and the potential extent of the impact of other countries significantly".

He revealed that a decision is expected soon on the impact of the "Corona" virus from the IMF and "World Bank" meetings in April, noting that many formulas are under study.

Rice stressed that the fund supports a set of economic measures China has taken to offset the negative effects of a massive downtime caused by the virus.
